Old changi memories
Last week was the start of my school holidays, and i had nothing to do, so i met up with my pal Hadi, and went on a super exciting adventure to the Old Changi Hospital.
We had a hard time finding our way there, and we got worried when the bus started meandering round forested areas and prisons, army camps and various parts of Singapore that we never imagined existed. So when we were on the verge of giving up and taking the bus back to base, we caught sight of the familiar white building gleaming back at us, and naturally, being gay as fak, we started jumping up and down the bus squealing like idiots.
It was such an amazing adventure, and not to mention, my passion for all things old, rundown and forgotten, just like how i absolutely loved loved loved the biennale in 2011(?) which was held at the Old Kallang Airport, amazing amazing place, all the art installations being displayed in the old building was just, such a memorable, exquisite experience.
At the OCH, we did not expect it to be THAT creepy since we went around late afternoon, but got a bit scared when there were actually a few rooms which where pitch dark and had no windows, we had so many *dont look inside, don't look inside* moments and it was quite hilarious.
I have never seen anything as beautiful as this place, it was so silent, not even crickets were humming. With the pale afternoon sunlight filtering in, it lit up the entire hall, casting this ethereal (albeit ghostly) glow onto the dusty cemented floor and accentuated the cracks and ruins of the structure.
It was a pity that we only got to explore the first level of the building, there were actually 3 more levels up which we could explore, but being cowardly kids and being paranoid parrot Jess, i couldn't help but worry if there were occult rituals/drug orgy(is there such a thing) or weird workers doing weird things, and the sun was setting, it started getting dark there was a strong wind which started blowing leaves around the building making rustling footstep sounds (creepy as fuck no?)
Before we left, i cast one last glance at the hall and thought, maybe i could hold my wedding here in future, complete with masses of fairy lights draped across ceilings, a nice folk indie band playing, white rustic tables with beautiful flowers and cake in jars and candles and ..
More adventures soon, hopefully!

Honey in the sun
Just a small honey selling shop we visited on the first day of the Japan trip, in a small quiet town in Fukuoka. We had a nice afternoon tasting various honey and eating freezing cold soft creamy milky honey ice cream in the 12 degree celcius winter.

Ohayo
It's a pretty late post but hello!
I went on a trip to Japan during December last year, and even though it wasn't my first trip there, i was really taken aback by the serenity and beauty of the countryside areas of Fukuoka.
I can't really describe it in the form of words, how do i put it? It felt almost ..dream-like. Think muted colours and slow movements, think of it like a soft Gaussian blur has been applied.
I'm guessing it must be the mixture of cold air and warm sunlight that made my trip really memorable and especially nostalgic.

Kalorie
So, i haven't had a real cupcake in years now, considering how cupcakes nowadays are WAYYY too overpriced for me. I was pleasantly surprised when i had friends telling me that delifrance cupcakes were priced at only $2.80 each. I went ahead and bought just two pieces, oreo cream cheese and a chocolate supreme or something. And here is my thought... how can anyone eat one cupcake and not feel the horrible guilt! Just sinking my teeth into the creamy pile of calorie induced nightmare was just... too much for me to take. Luckily i had a cold glass of honey citrus tea to wash away the sin....
Cupcakes with pretty frosting and yummy colors looks pretty and all, but the cream was just... i guess i am no cupcake person. That said, i shall stick to my muffins and sponge cakes :)
